Need funding support?

Counselling Covered by FNHA, ICBC, SAJE, CVAP, and Autism Funding

Funding support makes counselling easier to access by covering parts or even 100% of the costs through approved programs. Whether you're healing from trauma, recovering from an accident, or supporting your child's needs, programs like FNHA, ICBC, and Autism Funding can help connect you to the care you need without the worry of paying out of pocket. With funding in place, you can focus on your healing journey without financial stress.

ICBC (Insurance Corporation of British Columbia) funds counselling for individuals injured in car accidents to support their recovery, covering therapy and mental health services.

FNHA (First Nations Health Authority) provides funding for Indigenous peoples in Canada to access health services, including mental health and counselling support.

Autism Funding helps parents access essential services for children and youth diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD).

PAYMENT OPTIONS

We accept e-transfer to hello@deciphercounselling.com, credit card or cash (if in-person) right before or at the end of every session. We will issue you an official receipt (via email) when we receive the payment. If you are covered for counselling or psychotherapy services by your insurance plan, you will first pay the cost of session in full and then submit your receipt to your extended health care provider for reimbursement.

FUNDING COVERAGE

Got an open case file with CVAP, FNHA, Autism Funding, SAJE or a claim number with ICBC? We’re here to help! Our team is approved to provide counselling and art therapy through these funding programs.

Check out each of the links to see what we’ll need from you to get started and schedule your first session.

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you need to cancel or reschedule a session, we ask that you provide us with 48 hours notice. When a client cancels without giving enough notice, it prevents another client from being seen. For this reason, the full fee of the session is charged for missed appointments or late cancellations. Missed payments will lead to the suspension of counselling services until payment in full has been made. We do not charge for health emergencies (please directly contact your counsellor). In addition, clients are responsible for coming to their session on time. If you are late, your appointment will still need to end on time.

SLIDING SCALE

We want to make counselling and therapy more accessible. Sliding scale is a circular, community care-based fee arrangement bringing into consideration the disparity of economic access and privilege that exists for folks at different social locations and intersections. When you pay the full rate, a portion of this amount can be reallocated for BIPOC, queer, sick, disabled, unemployed, underemployed folks and those without insurance coverage for therapy to get the help they need. Sliding scale is not a sale or discount.

Please reach out to the counsellor directly to learn more about their sliding scale options as these are conversations we have on a case-by-case basis.

INSURANCE COVERAGE

Before booking an appointment, please check with your extended health provider whether Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCC), Canadian Certified Counsellors (CCC), and Registered Therapeutic Counsellors (RTC) are covered under your plan. If eligible for coverage, you will make the payment for the session first.  After we receive the payment, we will provide you with a receipt that has all the information you need to receive reimbursement from your extended health plan or insurance provider for the session.
