Da Eun Chung
A bit about me…
Hi, my name is Da Eun, and I’m a Registered Clinical Counsellor and Art Therapist. I’m a 1.5-generation Korean-Canadian therapist and Third Culture Kid who spent much of my childhood and adolescence living in Malaysia and Indonesia before settling on the unceded Coast Salish lands / Vancouver. These experiences shaped my interest in culture, belonging, identity, and how our families, communities, relationships, and environments influence how we understand ourselves.
I specialize in working with adult individuals navigating fear, anxiety, life transitions, identity, relationships, and the many experiences that shape how we understand ourselves in relation to the world. I also love working with individuals who have big questions in life, and I can offer space to hold them through an existential framework.
My approach...
My approach is intentionally reflective and collaborative. Together, we can slow things down, become curious about what you are experiencing, and explore what feels meaningful to you—through conversation, creativity, or a combination of both.
I offer to hold space where nuance is absolutely welcomed. As someone who has lived life embracing the “in between” (cultures, languages, generations, etc.), I can share cultural knowledge, a challenging perspective, or a collaborative stance as we explore both the messiness and beauty of life together.
My style tends to be reflective and gentle, while also helping you notice patterns, consider different perspectives, and identify what you would like to move toward. Depending on what you need, our sessions may be open and exploratory or more structured through creative prompts, reflective questions, and practical goals.
Ultimately, I hope to create a space where you can understand yourself more deeply, make meaning of your experiences, and move toward a life that feels more authentic and aligned without fear.
Fun Facts
I can never turn down a good noodle soup. I love hanging out by the ocean waters with my family. And I may have three or more beverages with me at most times.
