Clinical Supervision:
Clinical supervision is for counsellors, art therapists and qualifying practitioners. Supervision is approached as a relational, reflexive, and co-created process. You are welcome to bring questions, feedback, and evolving needs at any point throughout our work together.
Experience
I am a group practice founder and a mental health clinician (counsellor and art therapist) at Decipher Counselling Art Therapy Studio, established in 2019. I offer therapy and workshops grounded in creative, relational, and liberation-oriented approaches. My work primarily supports QTBIPOC individuals and those navigating identity, relational and intergenerational experiences, complex trauma, systemic stress, and creativity.
As a clinical supervisor, I support clinicians (students, associates, and practitioners) in navigating ethical tensions in their practice as they work with clients experiencing relational concerns, complex PTSD, and disenfranchised grief, as well as the impacts of internalized colonial dynamics shaped by systemic pressures. Building on intersectional approaches to support work with underrepresented and complex presentations such as disordered eating, OCD, relational trauma, and culturally and neurodivergence-informed care. I integrate both talk therapy and art-based approaches, and adapt to each supervisee’s learning needs and preferred style.
Specialties and Theoretical Orientation
My approach to therapy and supervision is integrative and grounded in:
• Trauma-, neuro-, grief-, culturally, and relationally informed practice
• Humility and attention to intergenerational and systemic contexts
• The body as a site of knowing and healing
• Expanding capacity rather than pathologizing responses
• Honouring both structure and intuition in clinical work
…with an emphasis on:
• Somatic, Narrative, EMDR, ERP, Mindfulness, CBT, IFS, Attachment theory, and Psychodynamic influences
• Art therapy and other expressive modalities
• Intersectional, liberation-oriented, decolonizing, and anti-carceral care, with attention to power mapping
Within supervision, I draw on reflective and reflexive dialogue, experiential exercises (including art-based prompts), and collaborative inquiry. My style is relational, affirming, and gently challenging, with attention to both clinical skill development and the therapist’s internal experience.
